Apple iPhone Settlement Update – Claim Deadline and Payout Details!

Who is eligible to get Apple iPhone Settlement Payout?

Here are the key points regarding eligibility for the Apple iPhone settlement payout:

  • Eligible Models: iPhone 7 and 7 Plus owners who are residents of the United States during a specific time frame are eligible.
  • Claim Requirements: You must have owned an eligible iPhone model between September 16, 2016, and January 3, 2023. Either complained to Apple about an issue covered by the settlement or paid Apple for a repair or replacement related to the covered issue.

How much can you get under Apple iPhone Settlement?

Members of the Settlement Class who furnish payment details will be compensated according to two factors: 

  • Either they paid Apple directly for a repair or replacement of a Covered Issue, or they complained to Apple regarding a Covered Issue but did not pay Apple directly for that repair or replacement. 

An equal payment of at least $50 and no more than $349 will be made to Settlement Class Members who, as shown in Apple’s records, paid Apple out of pocket for repairs or replacements for Covered Issues and who do not opt out and timely submit payment information to the Settlement Administrator.

An equal payment of up to $125 will be made to Settlement Class Members who reported Covered Issues to Apple but did not pay Apple out of pocket for repairs or replacements.

When and where will the final hearing of Apple iPhone Settlement?

The United States District Court for the Northern District of California will hold the final approval hearing at 2 p.m. on July 18. During this hearing, the court will carefully review the terms of the settlement and decide whether to approve it.

The purpose of this hearing is to ensure fairness and adequacy of the proposed settlement for all affected parties. Final approval hearings are a crucial step in class action lawsuits. 

The court examines the settlement terms, considers objections (if any), and evaluates whether the proposed resolution is reasonable and in the best interest of the class members.

What should I do to get Apple iPhone Settlement update Payout?

If Apple has informed you via email or postcard that you might be a part of the Settlement Class and you choose not to opt out, you have until July 3, 2024, to notify the Settlement Administrator of your preference for receiving the payment by electronic check, ACH transfer, or physical check, along with the relevant payment details.

To get a Class Payment, you have to send in your payment details. 

You will lose your ability to sue Apple for the Covered Issues in the future, stay in the Settlement Class, and miss any chance of collecting a Class Payment if you fail to select a payment method and submit your payment details.

When will the distribution of Apple iPhone Settlement Payout start?

On July 18, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., the Court will hold a hearing to decide whether to grant final approval of the Settlement related to the Apple iPhone audio issues. 

Once the Court grants final approval and any objections are overruled, Class Payments will be distributed to Settlement Class Members promptly. 

Additionally, the Court reserves the right to change the date or time of the Final Approval Hearing at its discretion, without further notice to the Settlement Class.
