The Washington Working Families Tax Credit (WFTC) is a refundable state tax credit that mirrors the federal EITC, providing financial support to low- and moderate-income Washington residents. The application window for tax year 2025 opened on February 1, 2026, and stays open year-round through December 31, 2029.
April 2026 Update: Applicants who filed in February should have received or be receiving their refunds now. March filers are in processing. New applicants can still file — the window is open and refunds arrive within 4 weeks of e-filing.
