Individuals who received a Consumer tip on a delivery allegedly utilized by DoorDash to fulfill the Guaranteed Amounts offered by DoorDash between July 2017 to September 2019 are eligible for Doordash Settlement.
Qualifying individuals who submit a claim before the claim submission deadline of 10 February 2025 can receive at least $2.00 plus a proportional share of the Settlement Amount shortly after March 4, 2025 through the direct deposit or physical cheques settlement funds receiving method.
Doordash Settlement Payment Date
On November 7, 2024, the Office of the Attorney General of Illinois brought a lawsuit against DoorDash. In this lawsuit, it is alleged that DoorDash violated the Illinois Consumer Fraud as well as Deceptive Business Practices Act relating to DoorDash’s previous “Pay Guarantee Model,” which DoorDash utilized to pay Dashers in Illinois between July 2017 to September 2019.
Under the terms of the class action Settlement, Dasher Payments can be distributed within 90 days after the Effective Date of the Settlement (November 14, 2024). Therefore, individuals can receive the Settlement Payments shortly after 4 March 2025, only if they submitted valid Claim Forms.
Doordash Settlement Allegations
The class action lawsuit alleged that between July 2017 to September 2019, DoorDash led customers to believe that their tips to Dashers will increase Dashers’ earnings more than the pay DoorDash had offered Dashers. The lawsuit also alleged that the DoorDash utilized Consumers’ tips to help to fulfill the minimum pay it guaranteed Dashers (“Guaranteed Amount”).
DoorDash denies all these allegations and stated that all tips were already paid to Dashers and the Pay Guarantee Model equitably and transparently reimbursed Dashers for their effort. The important event & date of Doordash Settlement are listed in the below table.

Doordash Settlement Payment Amount
Individuals who submitted an accurate and valid claim can expect to get at least $2.00 plus a proportional share of the Settlement Amount.
The payment to every qualifying Dasher represents the proportional share of the Settlement Fund depends on the amount of Consumer tips allegedly utilized by DoorDash to satisfy the Guaranteed Amounts provided to that Dasher by DoorDash when that Dasher agreed the delivery orders between July 2017 to September 2019.
Doordash Settlement Payment Method
Qualifying individuals can get their Doordash Settlement Payment amount through the settlement funds receiving method that they selected while submitting a valid claim form. The available settlement funds receiving methods are through ACH transfer, Zelle, Venmo, Virtual Mastercard, PayPal, or via physical check.
Keep in mind that if you select a physical check settlement funds receiving method then you need to wait longer to receive your settlement benefit amount than those who selected to receive their settlement funds through direct deposit available options. It is because the sometimes unexpected delays can occur if an individual selected physical cheques settlement funds receiving method.
Who is eligible for Doordash Settlement Payment?
To qualify for receiving Doordash Settlement Payment, individuals need to satisfy the following listed eligibility requirements.
- Qualifying Dashers are those who finished deliveries to customers in Illinois by the DoorDash platform between July 2017 to September 2019, were paid under the Pay Guarantee Model, or those who, during that time period, got a tip left by a customer on such a delivery that was allegedly used by DoorDash to fulfill the Guaranteed Amount offered by DoorDash for that delivery.
- Candidates need to submit a valid claim form before the claim from the submission deadline of February 10, 2025.
- Applicants need to be a permanent resident or citizen of Illinois.

If the qualifying individuals can’t receive their Doordash Settlement Payment amount on time then they need to act upon the following listed instructions.
