Have you ever been a patient of the North Oklahoma County Mental Health Center, famously known as NorthCare? If yes, you could get cash from the NorthCare data breach class action settlement.

Back in May 2021, someone accessed the organization’s computer server and stole the personal and health information of 128,000 individuals. After that, NorthCare was sued, and following the long legal process, the organization agreed to a settlement.

A month after the preliminary approval, the case was officially filed in the District Court of Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, under case number CJ-2022-279. Note that the deadline to exclude itself from the settlement was September 12, 2025, which has already passed. 

To get the payout from this lawsuit settlement, it is mandatory to submit the claim form. Note that the due date to do so is fixed as October 11, 2025. It will be followed by the final approval; the hearing for the same is also set to take place on December 15, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria 

To get a payout from the NorthCare data breach class action settlement, it is mandatory that you meet the eligibility requirements given below:

• You must be a permanent resident of the United States and a current or former patient of the North Oklahoma County Mental Health Center. 
• Additionally, your personal and health information was leaked in the data breach that took place in May 2021.
• Furthermore, you must have received an email from the settlement administrator that carries the Notice ID and Confirmation Code.

If you haven’t received any mail from the settlement administrator, you can still submit the claim form for this settlement.

Payout Amount 

The exact figure of the settlement fund for the NorthCare data breach class action isn’t made public. If you have suffered the out-of-pocket losses, then you can get up to $2,000, but for this you need to provide the required proof, such as receipts, bank or credit card statements, and police reports. 

Additionally, you can get an additional $100 as reimbursement for the time spent addressing issues arising from the data breach. Each hour you are eligible to get $20; you can claim it for a maximum of 5 hours—but you have to give the detailed explanation of spending time.

You can get not only cash but also other benefits too. Three years of one-bureau credit monitoring services are going to be provided to each individual who is affected by the data breach. Note that if you don’t include any of these three in your claim, you can get a flat $125.

How to Claim?

To submit a claim form for the NorthCare data breach class action settlement, please follow the step-by-step instructions.

• Go to the settlement portal that is accessible by visiting northcaredatasettlement.com/.
• Find and click on the option that reads ‘SUBMIT CLAIM,’ and get redirected to another webpage.
• Fill in your Notice ID and Confirmation Code, and click the Submit button. If you don’t have these credentials, tap on the Click Here button.
• Now, you have to provide the required details and attach documents (if you have), and then submit the claim form by choosing the preferred payment method to get the payout.

Payment Date

The settlement administrator hasn’t disclosed the date to distribute the payout. Note that it will take a few months after the final approval. If there will be any appeal after the final hearing, the payment may be delayed unexpectedly.
