ATT Class Action Settlement
The class action lawsuit against AT&T was filed related to the two data incidents that were reported on 30 March 2024 and 12 July 2024 that have affected the customers. The plaintiff claims the data incidents have affected their privacy and personal information.
The plaintiffs of the AT&T data incidents 1 and 2 agreed in March 2025 to settle the class action together and filed the class action complaint against AT&T in May 2025. The AT&T class action settlement has reached preliminary approval for $177 million, and the claim process has begun.

Who can claim the ATT Class Action Settlement?
You can claim the ATT telecom data settlement if you meet the conditions for any of the data incidents or both. Here you can find the ATT class action settlement class member eligibility conditions:
- AT&T 1 class members:
- You must be residing in the United States, and your data elements, such as social security number, personal information, and others, were compromised due to the data incident announced on 30 March 2024.
- AT&T 2 class members:
- You have an AT&T account, or end user, or line, and your data elements were compromised due to the data incident announced on 12 July 2024.
Exclusion:
- You cannot claim the settlement if you are an employee, officer, or heir of AT&T.
- AT&T subsidies, legal representatives, or entities cannot claim the settlement.
- The judge or judicial staff of the class action or their family cannot take part in the settlement.
What will be your payout in the ATT Class action settlement?
The settlement administrator will process the $177 million settlement fund for the payout for the eligible class members, attorney fees, awards for the class representatives, and administrative expenses. The net settlement fund, after processing all the fees and expenses, would be used to process the payout in the following manner:
- AT&T 1 settlement class:
- Documented cash payment: The class member of AT&T class 1 can receive a payment up to $5000 for the loss that occurred in 2019 or later, based on the documented loss they have presented in the claim form.
- Tier cash payment: The alternative to documented loss payment is a tier payment, where you will receive payment based on the tier condition you meet, such as:
- Tier 1: The AT&T class 1, whose social security number was included in the affected data element, can receive the tier 1 cash payment, five times the tier 2 payment.
- Tier 2: AT&T 1 class members whose data elements involve information other than SSN will receive the cash payment based on the Tier 2.
- AT&T 2 settlement class:
- Documented loss: If you can provide the document of the loss that occurred due to the data incident 2, you can receive a payout of up to $2500 for the loss that occurred after 14 April 2025.
- Tier 3 cash payment: The alternative to documented loss payment is a tier 3 payment for the settlement class member of the AT&T 2. The tier 3 payout will be based on the fund left in the net settlement fund.
- Overlap settlement class:
- If you meet the eligibility conditions for the AT&T 1 and 2 settlement classes, you can receive the payout for both, depending on the documents or tier cash payment you qualify for.
