The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance is processing state tax refunds for tax year 2025 throughout the 2026 filing season. The NY state filing deadline is April 15, 2026, the same as the federal deadline. If you have already filed, your refund may have arrived or should be arriving soon based on the schedule below.
Update (March 31, 2026): We are now in the peak filing window (late March through April 15). If you filed in January or February, you should have received your NY state refund by now. If you filed in March or are yet to file, use the schedule below to estimate your refund date. Filing electronically with direct deposit remains the fastest method — typically within 3 weeks of filing.
