The Social Security Administration provides monthly benefits to millions of Americans, including SSI, retirement benefits, SSDI (disability benefits), and survivor benefits. For March 2026, the SSA released payments on the following dates:
Social Security March 2026 Payment Schedule (Completed)
- SSI (Supplemental Security Income): February 27, 2026 (paid early because March 1, 2026 fell on a Sunday).
- Retirement, SSDI & Survivor Benefits — Birthdays 1st–10th: March 11, 2026
- Retirement, SSDI & Survivor Benefits — Birthdays 11th–20th: March 18, 2026
- Retirement, SSDI & Survivor Benefits — Birthdays 21st–31st: March 25, 2026
For survivor benefits, the applicable birthday is that of the deceased worker (spouse, parent, etc.).
What if a March 2026 Payment Was Not Received?
If you have not yet received your March 2026 Social Security payment, contact the SSA immediately:
- Phone: 1-800-772-1213 (TTY: 1-800-325-0778), Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–7 p.m.
- Online: my Social Security account at SSA.gov
- In-person: Visit your local Social Security office.
The SSA can confirm the status of your payment and resolve any banking or eligibility issues.
March 2026 Payment Amounts
March 2026 payments were issued at the same rates as January and February 2026, reflecting the January 2026 COLA adjustment. No mid-year changes were made. For reference, the 2026 maximum monthly amounts are:
- Retirement benefit (full retirement age): Up to $4,018/month
- SSDI: Average approximately $1,620/month
- SSI (individual): Up to $967/month
