Infosys McCamish Class Action Settlement 

The Infosys McCamish Class Action Settlement is about the cybersecurity breach that occurred in November 2023 and resulted in disruptions of some of McCamish’s applications and systems. 

This data breach has exposed sensitive data of more than 6.5 million individuals including customers of major financial institutions like Bank of America and the company has reported in April 2024 that Infosys McCamish Systems incurred a loss of about $38 million. 

Following this data breach incident, almost six class actions have been filed against Infosys McCamish. Infosys has agreed to pay $17.5 million to settle six class action lawsuits in the United States related to a cyber incident against its subsidiary, Infosys McCamish. 

According to the company statements on 13 March 2025, this proposed settlement fund would settle all pending class action lawsuits and resolve all allegations. These settlement terms require confirmation and diligence by the plaintiffs along with the preliminary and final court approval.

Upon settlement approval, all the allegations will be resolved and Infosys will try to prevent similar incidents in future. 

Who will be eligible for Infosys McCamish Class Action Settlement?

The eligibility criteria of Infosys McCamish Class Action Settlement is yet unknown and it will be available soon on official website after the plaintiffs agreement and court approval. The expected eligibility requirements can be:

  • The settlement is likely to include individuals whose personal information such as name, addresses, social security numbers and other sensitive information has been impacted due to the unauthorized access. 
  • Individuals may be required to provide documented proof of their compromised data which directly linked to the cybersecurity incident of Infosys McCamish occurred in November 2023. 
  • Eligible individuals can also include those who will receive notification of their participating eligibility approval in settlement through postal mail or email.

Although the per person payout is unknown, it can be impacted by several factors such as number of valid claims and type of damage. Maybe the settlement fund will be distributed on a pro rata basis.
