CDB April 2026 Payment Amount
The Canada Disability Benefit provides a maximum of $200 per month ($2,400 per year) for eligible recipients. Your actual payment amount may be less than the maximum depending on your individual income and other income support you receive.
The CDB is targeted at low-income Canadians with disabilities who hold a valid Disability Tax Credit (DTC) certificate. Key eligibility criteria:
- Must be a Canadian resident aged 18–64
- Must hold a valid DTC certificate (apply through the CRA)
- Must file an annual income tax return
- Must have a Social Insurance Number (SIN)

What to Do If Your CDB Payment Is Late
- Direct deposit: Allow up to 72 hours after the payment date.
- Paper cheque: Allow up to 7 business days (longer for remote areas).
- Contact the CRA at 1-800-387-1193 if your payment still hasn’t arrived.
- Check and update your banking details through CRA My Account.
How to Check Your CDB Payment Status
The CRA does not offer a real-time CDB payment tracker. To stay updated:
- Monitor your bank account on or after the payment release date if you use direct deposit.
- Check your mailbox regularly if you receive a paper cheque.
- Log in to CRA My Account to view your benefit details and confirm payment dates.
