Audi AEB Settlement

In 2024, a class action settlement was reached regarding the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system in certain Audi vehicles. The settlement addresses issues where the AEB system, which is included in features like “Audi Braking Guard” and “Pre Sense,” may malfunction or fail.

As part of the settlement, effective on May 15, 2024, Volkswagen Group of America (VWGoA) agreed to extend its New Vehicle Limited Warranties (NVLW) to cover 75% of the cost for a diagnosed and confirmed malfunction or failure of the AEB system in the Settlement Class Vehicles.

Owners of affected vehicles received a reimbursement claim form and could check if their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) was included in the class action settlement through an official website. The deadline to submit a claim form is July 15, 2024. The settlement aimed to resolve the issues and provide compensation to the owners of the affected vehicles.

How much do I get from Audi AEB Settlement 2024?

The compensation from the Audi AEB Settlement 2024 varies depending on individual circumstances, such as the extent of the issues experienced with the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system and the costs incurred for any repairs.

Generally, the settlement provides warranty extensions and partial reimbursements for certain covered repairs or replacements. Specifically, Volkswagen Group of America (VWGoA) agreed to cover 75% of the cost for a diagnosed and confirmed malfunction or failure of the AEB system in the Settlement Class Vehicles.

The exact amount you can expect to receive will depend on the total cost of the repair or replacement of the AEB system in your vehicle. If you have already paid for such repairs, you should be eligible for reimbursement of a portion of those expenses, subject to the terms of the settlement.

It’s important to keep all receipts and documentation related to AEB system repairs, as they will be required when filing a claim. For more detailed information regarding the settlement amounts and how they are calculated, you may want to visit the settlement website or contact the settlement administrator directly.

When can you expect to receive the Audi AEB settlement amount?

Whether or not you file a claim before the deadline will essentially determine when you receive the settlement money. If you submit your claim on time, the outcome will rely on the court’s final hearing for approval.

To decide whether to agree with the Settlement in its entirety, the Court will hold a Final Fairness Hearing on July 17, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. in the Charles Evans Whittaker U.S. Courthouse, 400 E. 9th Street, Kansas City, MO 64106, United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri.

At this Fairness Hearing, the Court will assess whether the Settlement is equitable, reasonable, and appropriate. After approval of this settlement, you can get your settlement amount at that date which becomes final. It is expected that your reimbursement will be mailed to you within one hundred (150) days if you are eligible and file a valid claim.
