In July 2023, hackers got access to HealthEC’s network, due to which the personal and health information of approximately 4.65 million individuals was compromised. After that, affected individuals were informed about the data breach in December 2023.

In April 2024, a class action lawsuit was filed against HealthEC at the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, alleging that the company doesn’t take appropriate measures to protect the data of individuals. And then both parties agreed to a settlement.
The settlement of $5.48 million gets the preliminary approval from Judge Stacey D. Adams in June 2025. Note that the deadline to submit a claim form to get a payout was set as November 18, 2025; who have submitted claim form will get payout.

To submit a claim form for the $5.48M HealthEC data breach settlement, it is mandatory that you meet the eligibility requirements:
- You are one among those whose personal information was compromised in the data breach that took place in July 2025, and
- You have received a notice from the settlement administrator that includes your Claim ID and PIN.
Note that if you have received care from Corewell Health, Community Health Care Systems, MD Valuecare, or Beaumont ACO, you may submit a claim and get a payout.

When to expect the HealthEC Data Breach Settlement payout?
The payout date for the HealthEC Data Breach Settlement isn’t disclosed by the settlement administrator. Note that the payment will be sent out after the final approval; if the final approval is received in February 2026, you can expect payment in March or April 2026.
