What are the 2026 GST/HST credit payment rates?

The payment rates for the GST/HST credit are made public by the Canada Revenue Agency for the benefit year 2025-26; it is $519 for a single, $680 for a couple, and $179 for each child under the age of 19. The details for the benefit year 2026-27 will be made public soon.

If you receive a GST/HST credit payment via direct deposit, check your bank account transaction history on the payment date, and if you receive it via paper check, check your mailbox regularly for 2 to 3 days after the release of payment from the Canada Revenue Agency.

What if the 2026 GST/HST credit payment is delayed?

The payment of GST/HST credits takes a maximum of 4 hours for direct deposits and 2 to 3 days for paper checks to be received after the release by the CRA; direct deposits can take up to 72 hours if there is a technical error, and paper checks can take up to 7 days in case of workload with Canada Post.
