Who will receive the upcoming Social Security Payments?
The two upcoming payments are Supplemental Security Income and Social Security benefits for specific people, let’s see who will receive these payments:
For SSI:
- US citizens aged 65 years or older; blind; or disabled.
- A person who has limited income resources (not more than $2000 for individuals and $3000 for couples) and income (not earning more than $1971 a month from work).
- The person must be a US citizen or national or non-citizen of one alien classification mentioned in DHS.
Social Security benefits for specific groups of people:
- The US citizens who received Social Security before May 1997 would receive the Social Security benefit on the third of the month.
When will you receive the upcoming Social Security payment?
Generally, the SSA processes the social security benefit payments on the second, third, and fourth Wednesday of the month based on the birth dates of the recipients. But these special payments would be processed on certain scheduled dates.
According to the Social Security Payment schedule, the Social Security beneficiaries would receive the upcoming benefits on the following dates:
- Supplemental Security Income: 31 May 2024
- Social Security benefits for recipients who received Social Security benefits before May 1997 or are eligible for both SSI and Social Security benefits: 3 June 2024
Another change in the June payment that Social Security receives would see in their June payment, People with birth dates between the 11th and the 20th of each month would receive the payment on 19 June 2024 due to the Juneteenth holiday instead of the third Wednesday of the month (18 June 2024).
Maximum Social Security Payment in June 2024
The US citizens entitled to SSI and Social Security retirement payments would receive the maximum Social Security on the 3rd and first of June month.

The beneficiaries of Retirement Social Security benefits can receive a maximum amount of up to $4873 depending on their age, for instance, the recipient aged 70 can receive the $4873 amount, and the recipient of age 68 can receive Social Security retirement monthly benefits up to $3822.
Eligible US citizens can receive the maximum Social Security payments when they are eligible for both payments, which is possible as both benefits are quite different from each other.
People who have opted for direct deposit will receive the payments faster on the designated date compared to mailed checks. The SSA advises the beneficiaries to wait for three business days for mail checks before contacting Social Security.
