The US Navy pay has increased to 5.2% this year, giving the second-highest boost to US Navy pay in 40 years. The Navy personnel should mark their calendar with their payday to manage their expenses well. The article covers the dull schedule of the Navy’s federal pay for 2025.

The US Navy offers a biweekly paycheck to the active duty servicemember. The payday for the US Navy is scheduled on the 1st and 15th of every month, however, if there is a weekend or public holiday on the pay date, your payment will be processed on the prior business days.
However, if the Navy personnel have an account in NFCU (Navy Federal Credit Union), they can receive their payment a little earlier than the scheduled date. The NFCU is a leading financial institution just like USAA that allows military personnel to receive their pay earlier through direct deposit.
The Navy personnel on active duty can mark the following 2025 calendar semi-monthly payment:
Payment month | Actual PayDay | NFCU Pay date |
January | 12 Jan and 1 Feb | 10 Jan and 31 Jan |
February | 15 Feb and 1 Feb | 14 Feb and 28 Feb |
March | 14 Mar and 28 Mar | 13 Mar and 27 Mar |
April | 15 April and 01 Mar | 14 April and 30 April |
May | 15 May and 30 May | 14 May and 29 May |

It’s a tentative schedule as the officials are yet to release the 2025 pay calendar, the Navy personnel are advised to check the 2025 calendar once the authority releases the next year’s pay calendar.
There are few months left in 2024, and the Navy personnel on active duty can mark the upcoming pay date and manage their finances well:

December | 13 Dec and 31 Dec | 12 Dec and 28 Dec |
The pay date for Navy retirees is different from the payday of active duty personnel. The federal government pays the retiree pay for the retired Navy personnel on the first of each month and if by any chance, the payday falls on a weekend or public holiday, the retirees will receive their payout amount on the last working day of the previous month.
So, the Navy retirees can mark the following dates for their 2025 Retired Navy payment day and NFCU payday:

January | 31 Jan | 30 Jan |
February | 01 Mar | 28 Feb |

September | 01 Oct | 30 Sep |
October | 01 Nov | 31 Oct |
November | 28 Nov | 27 Nov |

What should you do if you don’t receive your pay on the payday?
If you don’t receive your payday on the scheduled payday, then you must first check the following things:
- Your bank account is valid and active
- Your payday does not fall on any public holiday or weekend
- You can contact your financial institution to inquire about your payment.
When you are sure that your bank account is active and there are no issues from your end you must contact the Navy Federal Customer Services to inform them about your missing payment. The authority will look into the matter and notify you about your payments.
This year, the federal government has raised the military pay scale by 5.2% to boost their purchasing power and ensure the military personnel are financially strong. Recently, the current government has shown an interest in increasing the pay scale for military personnel by 4.5% in 2025.
According to the proposed budget, a 15% pay would be raised for E-1 and E-3 members in both the Army and Navy. The government also plans to raise the civilian employee pay by 2.0% next year. The proposed pay raise will be effective as Congress has not proposed the alternate pay increase. So, the adjusted pay will be effective from 01 January 2025, or on the applicable pay day.
The government says the raise in pay will attract enough recruits in the US military and Navy. If the government raises the pay in 2025, it would be one of the highest military pay raises since 1949.
The US Navy personnel or retirees should mark their pay date to ensure that they made their financial plan, especially during holidays in a way that it won’t cause any financial stress and they can easily manage the family expenses.
