Nationwide Fairer Share Payment 2025, Eligibility, Amount, When will it be paid?

On Tuesday, 11 March 2025, Nationwide announced that qualifying members can expect to receive £100 because they want to repeat the Fairer Share Payment in 2025. Nationwide also hopes to confirm a Fairer Share Payment for 2025 in May, depending on financial performance.

Nationwide disclosed that around 12 million qualifying members can receive £50 each from a one off ‘Big Nationwide Thank You. The distribution process of this payment will begin on 9 April across the country. Nationwide confirmed that qualifying customers of Virgin Money will not be able to receive the Nationwide Fairer Share Payment in 2025.

Nationwide Fairer Share Payment 2025

Nationwide customers are going to receive their third annual £100 Fairer Share payment this year. Last year, Nationwide paid out between £385 million to 3.85 million as a Nationwide Fairer Share Payment to the qualifying members, increased from £344 million to 3.4 million that was delivered in the year before.

The payment is totally separate from the £50 payouts linked with the Virgin Money deal, announced this week. 

The repetition of Nationwide Fairer Share Payment depends on Nationwide’s financial performance. It is important to know that the final decision will be made in May 2025, when officials will publish their results for the 2024-2025 financial year.  

Who is eligible for Nationwide Fairer Share Payment 2025?

To qualify for the Fairer Share payout, members need to satisfy the eligibility requirements but keep in mind that the official has not announced the exact qualifying requirements of fairer share payment 2025. 

But it is expected that to receive the benefit amount individuals need to have a qualifying active Nationwide current account, a qualifying Nationwide savings account, cash Isa as well as a Nationwide mortgage.

From the past two years, to qualify for Nationwide Fairer Share payment, interested customers needed to have had a maximum of £100 in their savings account or a cash Isa, at the end date of  March.

So, it is also expected that Nationwide current account holders should ensure whether they have at least £100 in their savings account or cash ISA at the end days of this month or not. Whereas, for a mortgage, individuals need to have at least £100 owed on it. 

How much and How can you get from Nationwide Fairer Share Payment 2025?

In 2025, from the Nationwide Fairer Share Payment, qualifying members will be able to get a maximum of £100. But keep in mind that the exact payout amount is yet to be announced by officials. 

Individuals who have an open current account will be able to receive their nationwide fairer share payment directly into it. But if an individual has a joint current account, the benefit amount will be delivered into that. 

When will you get the Nationwide Fairer Share Payment 2025?

For the past two years, Nationwide has announced Fairer Share payments in May and paid between 13 and 30 June. Recently, the building society confirmed a Fairer Share payment for 2025 but the exact payout date is not announced yet.

Qualifying individuals can expect to receive their Nationwide Fairer Share Payment in June 2025 but to know about the exact Nationwide Fairer Share Payment date it is suggested to you please keep in touch with officials and wait until officials will not publish its financial performance for 2024-2025.

Big Nationwide Thank You payment: When will it arrive?

On Tuesday, 11 March 2025, Nationwide announced that more than 12 million members will receive a share from a maximum of £600 million to thank them for enabling the successful purchase of Virgin Money. Customers can get up to £50 and most of the payments will be delivered in next month.

According to Debbie Crosbie, Nationwide CEO’s statement, Nationwide became even stronger when it bought Virgin Money and we are improving services for our customers. The Big Nationwide Thank You payment recognises the effects of our members for building the financial strength that allowed us to acquire Virgin Money in 2024.

Who can get Nationwide Thank You payment?

The payments will be provided to more than 12 million members who had a savings and current account, or mortgage, at the end of September 2024. Additionally, they need to have made at least one transaction from their current account or savings account.

To qualify, individuals need to have a balance of at least £100 in their current account, savings or mortgage in the 12 months to the end of September 2024. They also need to have their accounts as well as a mortgage at the time when the payment will be made.

Nationwide also disclosed that it will write a letter to those members who are eligible to receive the payment from March 11. It helps individuals to know about when and how the money will be paid.
